Genting Highlands is set to welcome the largest Hard Rock Hotel in Asia by 2027, a landmark addition to the iconic mountain resort’s rapidly expanding landscape. Spanning 150 acres (60.7 hectares) within the ambitious King’s Park development, the Hard Rock Hotel Genting Highlands will stand tall with 45 storeys and offer a remarkable 1,001 rooms and suites, including 371 rooms and 630 suites, making it one of the most extensive hospitality projects in the region.
This new destination will bring the unmistakable Hard Rock vibe to new heights, literally. Located 1,000 metres above sea level, guests can look forward to a stylish mix of modern design, glamour, and rock ‘n’ roll energy, all while surrounded by the cool mountain air of Genting.
Families are well catered to as every room will include a pull-out bed, making it perfect for group travel. In addition to its spacious accommodations, the hotel will feature signature Hard Rock amenities such as a heated swimming pool, the iconic 200-square-metre Rock Shop, a Rock Spa, multiple dining options, and a chic lounge and bar.
According to the hotel’s developers, the guest experience will blend high-end luxury with the spirited essence of rock culture, offering “a memorable adventure for all walks of life.”
This will be Malaysia’s third Hard Rock Hotel, joining the current properties in Penang and Desaru Coast, Johor. The project is a collaboration between HR Hotel & Residences Sdn Bhd and Hard Rock International, with the agreement signed on October 14.

King’s Park Genting Highlands, where the hotel is located, is a RM10 billion development positioned to become Malaysia’s first central business district in a highland resort setting. Spread across five development phases, King’s Park will incorporate residential, commercial, and entertainment elements including branded theme parks, a halal luxury boutique hotel, a halal retail zone, and even the world’s largest terrarium.
The entire development is expected to be completed over the next 10 years, with the Hard Rock Hotel leading the charge as a major tourism and economic driver. As part of this massive venture, the hotel is also expected to create numerous job opportunities, especially in the hospitality, food and beverage, room operations, and engineering sectors.
