Chloe Qisha, a Kuala Lumpur-born singer-songwriter, is quickly making her mark as one of pop’s freshest voices. Now based in London, the 26-year-old artist is turning heads with her dreamy vocals and honest, emotionally rich lyrics that resonate deeply with a new generation of listeners.

Although she holds a psychology degree and a master’s in communication, Chloe’s heart always belonged to music. During her third year of university, she made the life-changing decision to pursue it full-time. From recording covers as a teenager on SoundCloud and YouTube to releasing her own original work, her journey has been nothing short of remarkable.

In July 2024, she officially debuted with the single VCR Home Video, a deeply personal track inspired by her evolving relationship with her parents. That release set the tone for her debut EP Chloe Qisha, which dropped in November and received glowing reviews. NME praised her work for its soulful lyrics and pure pop essence.

Then came a moment that Chloe, and her home country, will never forget. Global superstar Kelly Clarkson performed Chloe’s song I Lied, I’m Sorry on her Kellyoke segment during The Kelly Clarkson Show. For Chloe, hearing her own song performed by one of the most iconic voices in pop wasn’t just surreal. It was a deeply proud moment that validated everything she had worked for.

“Kelly Clarkson. This almost fantasy, beautiful human being,” Chloe told the BBC.

“It’s such an honour. I feel so blessed.”

The performance quickly went viral, drawing hundreds of thousands of new listeners to Chloe’s music and putting her firmly on the global radar. For many Malaysians, it was a proud moment to see one of their own recognized by such a legendary artist on an international platform.

Since that breakout moment, Chloe’s career has continued to soar. She was named one of Spotify’s Artists to Watch 2025, and her breakout track was added to several of the platform’s top playlists. Her face has appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone UK, NME, Elle, and Augustman, and she has sold out multiple shows including her debut at London’s Bermondsey Social Club.

Despite her growing fame, Chloe remains grounded in her roots. She fondly recalls long drives to Penang during Chinese New Year and spending hours at the mall with friends in Kuala Lumpur. These memories continue to inspire the stories she shares through her music.

Looking ahead, Chloe has just released her second EP Modern Romance and is gearing up for her first European tour starting on October 5. She’ll be performing across the UK, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, and is also set to appear at major festivals like The Great Escape in the UK and Bergenfest 2025 in Norway.

From humble beginnings in Malaysia to a powerful shoutout by Kelly Clarkson, Chloe Qisha’s rise is not just a success story. It is a proud celebration of talent, courage, and the power of music to transcend borders.
