In an incredible twist of fate, a self-employed man from Malaysia recently struck it rich with a RM2.15 million lottery win and gave away every single ringgit to the primary school he once attended.

As reported by China Press, the story began last month when the man placed a small 1+3D bet at a Da Ma Cai outlet and won RM60. Nothing life-changing. He tucked the winnings, including a single RM50 note, into his wallet and pretty much forgot about it.

But things took a meaningful turn one day when he was praying at home, paying respects to his ancestors. In a quiet moment of reflection, he felt something deeply spiritual stir within him. Overcome with emotion, he made a vow on the spot:

“If I ever win big in the lottery, I’ll donate it all to my old school.”

Right after that, he remembered the RM50 note he had stashed away. As he pulled it out, the numbers on the serial code — 140 — jumped out at him. Feeling something special about it, he quickly placed a 3+3D Bonus bet using the numbers 140 and 410. To top it off, he chose the Chinese zodiac sign Tiger, as a tribute to the mentors and educators who shaped his life.

Then came the big night, he checked the results and was stunned. The winning numbers? 410 + 140. The winning zodiac? Tiger. Everything matched.

“I actually slapped myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming,” he told China Press.

His winnings totalled RM2,151,664.

But rather than spending the money on himself, he stuck to the promise he made during that prayer. With full sincerity, he donated the entire sum to his alma mater, the very school where his journey began.

The decision also honoured his grandfather and great-grandfather, both of whom were passionate educators and believed deeply in the power of education.

It’s not every day you hear of someone hitting the jackpot and giving it all away. But for this humble man, it wasn’t about luck or wealth, it was about keeping a heartfelt promise and giving back to the place that helped shape his life.
