In light of the worldwide matcha shortage, one Malaysian woman finds herself in a humorous predicament. The TikTok user, known as @/hahayahya, shared in a viral post that she had intended to purchase just a single 30g tin of matcha powder. The can of matcha cost RM81 and the order seemed simple enough — until a massive delivery arrived at her apartment’s guardhouse.
To her confusion, she was notified of a parcel weighing a staggering 7kg, far heavier than the tiny tin she was expecting. When she opened the package, she was stunned to find not one, but three medium-sized boxes inside — all packed with a total of 81 cans of matcha.
A costly human error
It turned out the seller had mistakenly interpreted the selling price of RM81 per matcha can as the quantity to be shipped out. The 81 cans she received was worth about RM6,500!
Honesty is the best policy
Despite the temptation that such a green goldmine might present to any matcha lover, @/hahayahya acted quickly and responsibly. She immediately reached out to the seller to clarify the mix-up and arranged to return the excess stock. The light-hearted ordeal sparked laughter and admiration from netizens, both for the absurdity of the situation and her honest response.

Some netizens said she should have just kept quiet and kept the matcha because ‘rezeki jangan ditolak‘, which means not rejecting fortune when it comes your way.

What would you do? Return the extra or secretly keep the items?
