‘Geng Budak Sekolah’ minors sold indecent photos online

According to Sinar Harian, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail revealed in the Dewan Rakyat today that the group, known as ‘Geng Budak Sekolah’, operated both a website and a WhatsApp group. Investigations showed that the online platform had 762 members and was managed by the girl together with four of her friends. The minors were selling indecent photos of themselves through the group.

“Each of them took pictures of their own body parts and then sold them. She dropped out of school because her income was much higher than her parents,” Home Minister added.

Malaysia steps up child online safety with D11 probe & KDN enforcement

The case has been taken over by D11 (Sexual Crimes, Women and Children Investigation Division) at Bukit Aman, which is probing the matter under laws related to child sexual exploitation.

The minister stressed that the Home Ministry (KDN) will enforce the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 in handling the case. He also said views from various agencies would be sought to strengthen efforts in combating crimes of this nature.

The revelation underscores growing concerns about child safety online and the urgent need for preventive measures to protect children from falling prey to, or participating in, digital exploitation.
