A 40-year-old local man died after allegedly breaking into a house in Jalan Building Society, Taman Star, Ipoh, yesterday morning (28 July).

According to Perak Police Chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin, the incident is believed to have happened at around 5am, when two suspects allegedly entered the house through a window that had been forced open.

Suspect found unconscious after struggle

A struggle reportedly broke out between the suspects and the house caretaker.

One suspect managed to escape, while the other was found unconscious at the scene and was later pronounced dead.

A post-mortem examination found that the man died from a blocked coronary artery.

Police still searching for second suspect

Mohd Alwi said the case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR), while investigations are ongoing under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking and Section 324 for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon or dangerous means.

Police are also actively tracking down the second suspect, who remains at large.
