Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung’s roast meat restaurant “Six Hub Roast House” in SS2, Petaling Jaya, has been ordered to temporarily cease operations after just operating for 10 days.
The restaurant recently posted an apology on its social media, explaining that its kitchen had occupied public space causing disturbance to the surrounding area.
Restaurant to close for two days
According to the restaurant, it is complying with instructions from the relevant authorities and will close for two days to carry out rectification works.
The restaurant apologised for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their understanding.
It also announced that it will resume normal operations on Wednesday, August 26, after the necessary adjustments have been made.
Videos circulating online earlier showed a closure notice and seal placed at the restaurant entrance by the Petaling Jaya City Council’s Health and Environment Division.
The restaurant had previously clarified that the closure was not related to hygiene issues, but was mainly due to the placement of kitchen equipment.
According to its marketing representative, some kitchen equipment had been temporarily placed at the back of the premises, occupying part of the roadside area.
The restaurant said the authorities had instructed them to remove the equipment.
Star-studded opening
Six Hub Roast House officially opened on August 14, with Mat Yeung and actress Lisa Ch’ng making an appearance at the opening.
A lion dance performance was also held, while congratulatory flower stands from several Hong Kong celebrities were displayed outside the restaurant.
Among those who sent their well wishes were Charmaine Sheh, Kenneth Ma, Joel Chan, Edwin Siu, Sisley Choi, Tavia Yeung, Him Law, Ruco Chan, Raymond Cho and Chris Lai.
The star-studded opening quickly attracted attention, with members of the public also stopping by to take photos.
