Apple fans, mark your calendars. Apple has officially announced its next keynote for 10 September at 1am Malaysian time, with this year’s event teasing a rather mysterious theme: “Surprise and Shine.”

The company’s teaser features a glowing Apple logo, but Apple has yet to reveal exactly what it has planned for the event.

The keynote will be available to watch online through Apple’s official website and YouTube channel.

First Apple keynote without Tim Cook

This event will also mark a major change for Apple, as it will be the first keynote since John Ternus officially became the company’s CEO on 1 September 2026, taking over from Tim Cook after his 15-year tenure.

And there could be plenty of changes beyond the leadership shake-up.

iPhone 18 Pro expected to take centre stage

Unlike previous years, Apple is reportedly changing up its iPhone launch strategy.

The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at the September event, while the standard iPhone 18 is rumoured to arrive only next year.

But the biggest announcement could be a completely new addition to the iPhone family.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone?

Apple is widely expected to introduce its first foldable iPhone, which could be called the iPhone Ultra.

If launched, this would be one of the biggest changes to the iPhone lineup since the iPhone X debuted in 2017.

However, Malaysians may have to wait longer for the foldable model.

Reports suggest that the device could initially be limited to selected markets such as the US and China, with Apple potentially rolling it out to other countries in phases.

When can M’sians get the new iPhones?

Malaysia has been among Apple’s first-wave markets in recent years, so Malaysians could potentially place their pre-orders for the new iPhone 18 Pro as early as 11 September, with local sales possibly beginning on 18 September.

That said, this is based on Apple’s previous launch pattern and could still change depending on the company’s actual announcement.

More than just iPhones?

The iPhone may not be the only thing Apple has up its sleeve.

The company could also refresh some of its other products, with rumours pointing to a possible Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini.

And there could be another thing for Apple fans to worry about, pricing.

New Apple products could cost more

With the ongoing global RAM shortage, some of Apple’s upcoming products could reportedly come with higher price tags.

Apple has already announced its refreshed Mac mini and Mac Studio, which start at RM3,799 and RM10,999 respectively in Malaysia.

Interestingly, the one new Apple product that went in the opposite direction was its Polishing Cloth, which is now priced at just RM39.

So, whether you’re waiting for a new iPhone, hoping for Apple’s first foldable or simply curious about what the company has planned, 1am on 10 September could be a big night for Apple fans in Malaysia.
