Motorists in Penang and Kedah are continuing to raise concerns over reported vehicle problems after refuelling with Petron RON95 petrol.

Complaints circulating on social media include vehicles breaking down, severe jerking and difficulties starting after refuelling. Some motorists have also shared photos and videos of their vehicles being towed to workshops, along with claims that Petron’s RON95 fuel may have been contaminated with water or diesel.
Petron says its RON95 fuel passed its own checks

Petron Malaysia has since completed its own investigation and said its RON95 fuel complied with the required product specifications. The company also said no evidence of contamination, including water, was detected in the fuel sold at its service stations.
However, the statement has not fully eased concerns among some motorists.

Some social media users questioned whether samples should instead be taken directly from vehicles that experienced problems, rather than only from fuel storage tanks at the stations.

One commenter sarcastically wrote that vehicles seemed to be breaking down at the same time.

While another accused Petron of evading the responsibility.
Petron also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the quality and safety of its fuel products across its service stations.
