This 21KM wasn’t about winning, it was about believing

During the Score Marathon 2025 in Putrajaya on Sunday, 13 July, Ammar Naim and his best friend of 13 years, Adry Fazmi, completed the entire 21KM route hand in hand. However, this run wasn’t about medals or breaking records , it was about proving that disability does not limit capability. With the right support, anything is possible. Adry, who is visually impaired, relied entirely on Ammar’s guidance throughout the course, using verbal cues to navigate the challenging terrain. Alongside them was their close friend named Aida, which is the creator of the TikTok video (@aidashafit), providing additional safety and support along the route.

A message that spoke volumes without words

A message telling other runners that Adry is visually impaired was pinned to his back to help other runners be aware. This small but meaningful action was more than just a formality, it was a call for empathy, awareness, and inclusion. Their participation was a gentle reminder that everyone can do anything they want, as long as they put their heart and minds to it.

Their journey wasn’t just physical, it was powerful

With determination in every step, Adry, Ammar, and Aida reached the finish line together, their faces lit up with joy and pride. It wasn’t just a personal victory, it was a moment that moved everyone who watched.

What they showed the world was more than teamwork, it was a powerful reminder that limitations do not define a person’s potential. When friendship and trust lead the way, even the most difficult challenges can be overcome.

This finish line was only the beginning

In a world that often overlooks the silent battles of others, this simple action of running side by side became a symbol of something much bigger, a celebration of trust, love, and the kind of friendship that doesn’t let go, even over 21KM. As one commenter said, “I saw them holding hands at the finish line and thought they are best friends! Turns out this was the story behind it”. Another shared, “Wow, that’s so heartwarming to see! I’m genuinely proud of them”.
