A Malaysian woman battling stage-four cancer has touched many hearts after choosing to bake and sell cookies to help fund her medical treatment.

Her story came to light through a social media post by Malaysian philanthropist Kuan Chee Heng, who shared her determination despite facing financial hardship and declining health.

Determination at its essence
According to Kuan, the woman’s family is facing financial difficulties as medical expenses continue to pile up. Her husband works as a kitchen helper and earning not much, while they also has a six-year-old son to raise.
To ease the financial burden, the woman decided to bake cookies and sell them. The effort allows her to continue earning an income while managing her health condition.
Kuan shared that he personally contributed RM900 to assist the woman after learning about her situation.
According to Kuan, she used to push her trolley laden with cakes which she baked herself to sell near Public Bank and RHB Bank. Now she no longer can bake cakes as she does not have the strength, She resorts to bake cookies which is much lighter. She never gives up.

Despite her weakened condition, the woman continues to persevere. Kuan shared that due to the effects of chemotherapy, it takes her around 45 minutes to climb three flights of stairs to reach her home.
Even so, she remains hopeful about the future. She reportedly expressed confidence that she will one day recover from her illness and return to selling cakes again using the small red trolley she once relied on.
Kuan ended his post by wishing the woman a speedy recovery, expressing hope that she will regain her strength and overcome the disease.
