Police in Pekan, Pahang have uncovered a fake medical certificate (MC) operation, leading to the arrest of five individuals aged between 30 and 55 on June 15, including a government clinic nurse.

Investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly used the name, official stamp and signature of a doctor who had been transferred out of the district in 2023 to produce fake MCs.
The forged certificates were reportedly sold for between RM50 and RM200 each.
Middlemen, insider & buyer detained
Among those arrested were three individuals believed to be acting as middlemen selling the fake MCs, one person suspected of providing government documents and a buyer who allegedly purchased a fake MC.
All five suspects have been remanded for three to four days to assist in investigations.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 468 of the Penal Code for forgery intended for cheating, as well as Section 420 for cheating.
Authorities have reminded the public that both selling and purchasing fake MCs are offences that can carry serious legal consequences.
