Want to experience the return of Formula 1 to Malaysia from behind the scenes? Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is now looking for volunteers for the upcoming F1 event.
SIC has opened applications for those interested in joining its volunteer team, with the application form available on its official website. Applicants will need to provide their personal details, contact information, residential address and relevant volunteering experience.
The form also asks whether applicants have previously volunteered at SIC, as well as their availability and preferred areas of interest.
SIC said applicants will be contacted after their completed forms have been received.
Malaysia set to host F1 again
The volunteer call comes as Malaysia prepares for the return of Formula 1 to Sepang.
Formula One and the FIA confirmed on Sunday (July 26) that Malaysia will host the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at SIC from October 2 to 4.
The race is expected to take place between the Azerbaijan and Singapore Grands Prix, although the event remains subject to final agreements and official approval, including endorsement by the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
The event will mark F1’s return to Sepang for the first time since 2017.
What can volunteers expect?
Volunteer roles may include event logistics, guest services, media and VIP accreditation, crowd management, and trackside support, giving selected volunteers a chance to experience the race weekend from behind the scenes.
Selected volunteers will also receive a RM60 daily allowance, along with complimentary meals during the event.
How to apply
Those interested in volunteering can submit their applications through the volunteer application section on SIC’s official website.
Unlike the Singapore Grand Prix, where race officials typically need to meet specific age and training requirements and commit to the full event schedule, SIC’s current volunteer application form does not appear to publicly state similar requirements.
So if you’ve always wanted to get closer to the F1 action, this could be your chance to be part of Malaysia’s big motorsport comeback.
