It’s actually happening!. For the first time in 20 years, Arsenal are heading to the UEFA Champions League final!

After a nervy 1-1 draw in Madrid last week, the Gunners finished the job at the Emirates Stadium last night with a gritty 1-0 win (2-1 on aggregate) against a stubborn Atletico Madrid. If you’re a Gunner, you probably haven’t slept yet—and we don’t blame you!

The Star Boy Delivers

The atmosphere in North London was electric, but the game was a total chess match until the 44th minute. Leandro Trossard unleashed a stinging drive that Jan Oblak could only parry into the danger zone. Like a shark sensing blood, Bukayo Saka was there to poke the ball home, sending the Emirates into absolute meltdown.

Arteta’s Defensive Masterclass

In the second half, Diego Simeone’s men did what they do best—made life difficult. But this isn’t the “soft” Arsenal of the past. Gabriel and William Saliba were absolute monsters at the back, securing the team’s 30th clean sheet of the season.

Even with Viktor Gyökeres leading the line and constant pressure from Julian Alvarez, the Gunners held firm. This win marks 14 matches unbeaten in the competition—a new club record that couldn’t have come at a better time.

Budapest Bound

The road to glory now leads to the Puskás Aréna in Budapest on May 30. Arsenal will face either PSG or Bayern Munich to decide who lifts the big ears. Whether it’s a date with Harry Kane or a showdown with Kylian Mbappé’s crew, one thing is for sure: Mikel Arteta has officially restored Arsenal to the pinnacle of European football.

North London is dreaming. Is this finally the year the trophy comes to the Emirates?
