A seemingly ordinary craving for ayam gepuk (Indonesian style fried chicken) was transformed into a frightening case of domestic violence in Cheras.
Domestic dispute turns violent after simple food request

According to the Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud, the case began with the victim, a 33-year-old housewife, asking her husband to buy ayam gepuk at around 3:30pm on March 11 at their flat in Sri Sabah, Cheras.
“The victim had requested her husband to buy the food (ayam gepuk) she had requested, but the husband became upset with the request and told the victim to cook the food herself.”

“However, the situation soon escalated into a physical confrontation, with the suspect grabbing the victim’s neck, slapping the victim on the head, and even holding a knife to the victim’s throat,” he said.
ACP Rosdi added that the victim suffered injuries to the right side of her neck and sought medical treatment at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM). She later filed a police report.
ACP Rosdi said that police have opened an investigation into the case and referred it to the Criminal Investigation Department for further action.
