The government has approved an increase in the Budi95 fuel subsidy quota for e-hailing drivers to 800 litres per month, equivalent to approximately 5,000 kilometres, subject to specified travel conditions, announced Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Budi95 quota for e-hailing drivers was previously 600L per month

The Budi95 quota for e-hailing drivers was previously set at 600L for the month of October, which benefited 58,000 drivers.

“There are e-hailing drivers who have expressed that the current quota remains inadequate.

“As such, we are reviewing the situation, and if verified records show genuine need for additional fuel allocation, the government will consider it,” he said.

“I am pleased to announce that the government has agreed to raise the Budi95 eligibility for qualified e-hailing drivers to up to 800 litres per month, equivalent to around 5,000km, based on the set travel conditions.

“At the same time, the government has also approved the inclusion of airport taxis among the vehicles eligible for subsidised RON95 under the Petrol Subsidy Control System (SKPS),” he told the Dewan Rakyat.

Anwar added that on average, Budi95 recipients used about 98L, or 33 percent of the 300L quota. Only 0.7 percent of users had fully utilised the Budi95 quota in October.
