Nearly 3,500 breakfast meals prepared

Devan, who runs his stall in Skudai, Johor for 38 years, said it was his first time organizing such an event. According to Sin Chew Daily, he had spent nearly RM5,000 to prepare 3,500 breakfast sets consisting of fried noodles, fried rice, mee hoon, pastries, and drinks, along with 500 national flags.

To no surprise, the stall quickly attracted large crowds, with many families stopping by to collect the breakfast and national flags, while some workers returning from night shifts in Singapore stopped by to receive their meals before heading home. Most of the food were taken just within a few hours.

Fosters unity amongst races

Devan expressed his hopes that through this small gesture, he could share his love for the nation while fostering unity among Malaysians of all races. He also noted the overwhelmingly positive response from the public and is now considering turning this event into an annual National Day tradition.
