Imagine you’re having a quiet shift at work, sorting out items, checking the till, and waiting for the next customer. Then, out of nowhere, Valak, the terrifying nun from The Conjuring movies, walks straight into your store.
This was the unexpected reality for a store employee in Thailand recently when a man decided to pull off a full-on scare by showing up in a complete Valak costume. We’re talking about pale ghostly makeup, dark eye circles, black-and-white robes, and that chilling vibe you’d only expect to see in a horror film.
A terrifying yet hilarious encounter with Valak
The moment was captured in a TikTok video posted by @napapron, showing the man confidently strolling into the shop as if it was the most normal thing in the world. But for the female staff behind the counter, it was anything but normal.

The second she laid eyes on the “demonic nun,” she let out a scream, jumped back in shock, and fell to the ground, completely overwhelmed by fear. It was one of those pure, unfiltered reactions you only see when someone genuinely thinks they’ve seen a ghost.
Luckily, the fear didn’t last long. Once the staff realised it was just a man in a costume pulling a prank, her fear quickly turned into embarrassed laughter, and you could almost feel the relief as she sat on the floor trying to process what had just happened.

The video has since gone viral, with many netizens finding the situation hilarious while also sympathising with the poor staff who had to endure a real-life jump scare during her workday. Many praised the man for his commitment to the prank, while others admitted they would have reacted exactly the same if Valak casually walked into their workplace.
