A Shopee delivery driver has won praise online after going beyond his usual job duties to help a customer protect their clothes from the rain.
The heartwarming moment was shared by the homeowner, who said the driver had just delivered a parcel to their house.
As he was about to leave, the driver noticed several racks of clothes placed outside the house. Instead of simply walking away, he stopped and helped push the clothes further inside. He even took an extra moment to check that the clothes were properly sheltered, making sure the top covering was in place before leaving.
“He could have just ignored it”
The simple gesture quickly caught attention online, with many praising the driver for being considerate even though helping with the clothes was not part of his job.
One netizen suggested that his name should be shared with Shopee so the platform could recognise and appreciate his effort.
Others who claimed to know the driver personally also came forward to share their experiences.
One person said they had known him for around three to four years, describing him as an extremely hardworking person.
The commenter, who works in TV repair, said they would sometimes drive the rider around to help with deliveries after work and had seen him continuing to make deliveries as late as 9pm or 10pm.
Another person said the driver had consistently provided good service to their family, even calling them when delivering parcels so that their elderly family members would not have to go outside to collect them.
“He is really good,” the user wrote, adding that the driver would sometimes bring the parcels directly inside for their family.
For many, it was a small act of kindness, but one that showed how a little consideration can make someone’s day a whole lot easier.
