Diesel in West Malaysia now retails for RM5.52 per litre

The retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia will increase by 80 sen to RM5.52 per litre, while rates in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will remain unchanged at RM2.15 per litre for the period of March 26 to April 1.

In a statement on Wednesday (March 25), the Finance Ministry announced that the price of RON97 petrol will rise by 60 sen to RM5.15 per litre. Similarly, the price of unsubsidised RON95 petrol will increase by 60 sen to RM3.87 per litre during the same period.

Budi95 remains at RM1.99 per litre

However, the subsidised RON95 petrol price under the Budi95 initiative will stay the same at RM1.99 per litre.

The Finance Ministry added that the government will continue reviewing and adjusting retail fuel prices – including RON97, RON95, and diesel – based on global oil market trends, while prioritising price stability.

“The government will also keep a close watch on global crude oil price movements and take necessary steps to safeguard the welfare and well-being of the people,” the statement said.
