Dr. Wong, the former president of JCI Kota Bharu, has allegedly come forward to say he has lodged a police report after his personal information and that of his family was widely circulated online. He warned that he would not hesitate to pursue legal action against anyone who misuses his data, spreads defamatory content, or harasses his loved ones.

According to Chinese daily, China Press, in a post believed to be from him on a newly created Facebook page, Dr. Wong apologised for the distress caused to his wife, admitting that the online videos and ongoing chatter had inflicted “a second round of hurt” on her. “I feel guilty and deeply regretful for this, and I want to sincerely say sorry to my wife again,” he wrote, adding that his family had already prepared themselves months ago when they refused to give in to blackmail attempts.

Affair Allegations Surface Online

The controversy began when a Malaysian man, claiming his wife of 10 years had been unfaithful, shared several videos online that appeared to show her sitting beside a man believed to be Dr. Wong inside a BMW. The three-minute clips spread quickly across social media, sparking heated conversations and drawing sympathy for the husband.

In his emotional post, the husband said he had long suspected something was wrong, especially after his wife started working and spending more time away from home. His fears were eventually confirmed, leading to the collapse of their decade-long marriage. “I always stood by her through the hard times, but I never expected this. Finding out broke me completely,” he said.

Despite the heartbreak, he chose to share a message of encouragement for others facing similar struggles: “I chose to live for myself and my kids. Letting go of someone who doesn’t value you doesn’t mean you’ve lost, it means you’ve respected yourself.”

JCI Kota Bharu Responds

Amid the storm, JCI Kota Bharu announced that Dr. Wong has been suspended from his position as the organization’s 2025 president with immediate effect. His duties will now be handled by former president Tan Zhi Qian.

In its statement, the organization stressed that the incident was a personal matter unrelated to JCI’s mission, values, or activities. It also called for an immediate end to malicious comments on its official social media pages, warning that such actions go against the spirit of volunteerism and community service.

Reaffirming its stance, JCI Kota Bharu said it remains committed to leadership training, community projects, exchange programs, and volunteer work — continuing its mission of “creating value through action.”
