JAIS investigates viral aerobics session
The live broadcast, believed to have taken place in Bukit Badong, shows a group of women performing aerobics on stage during a TikTok live broadcast. What caught netizens’ attention was their attire, which many felt crossed the line for a public setting.
In a statement released last night, JAIS said the incident contained elements of indecent behaviour and could lead to Islam being viewed in a negative light. The department confirmed that an investigation is currently underway, focusing on the exact location of the event, the programme organiser, and the individuals involved.

JAIS added that it takes the matter seriously and will take action in accordance with existing laws if necessary.
Indecent Baju Kurung attire sparks fury
Members of the public who have information related to the incident are urged to come forward and assist with the investigation by contacting the JAIS hotline at 1800-88-2424.
The issue first came to light after a Threads user, @putramerah77, shared screenshots of the performance. In the screenshots, one of the women were seen wearing school-style baju kurung paired with tight trousers, while another appeared to be wearing only shorts.
The clip quickly drew backlash online, with many social media users expressing anger and disappointment over the incident.
