A husband-and-wife duo never expected their idea of selling luxury seafood by the roadside would go viral. Their king crab stall has been drawing massive crowds. Selling at just RM85 per crab, the couple managed to sell out 150 crabs in only 15 minutes, leaving customers lining up for more.

RM85 King Crab Sells Out in 15 Minutes

Mohamad Ikhmal Nur Hakim, 30, shared that the idea started when his wife, Nurul Al Fatonah, 30, was craving the luxury seafood usually served in pricey upscale restaurants.

Wanting to make it more affordable and accessible, the couple decided to sell the dish at a much lower price so that more people could have a taste of the delicacy.

From Home Deliveries to Viral Stall

Ikhmal explained that they first started cooking at home and delivering orders to customers, but later set up a small stall in Lembah Sireh as it was more practical. He added that they promoted the business on TikTok and Facebook, which unexpectedly went viral, saying,

“Customers began sharing their experience, and that boosted demand even more.”

Now, their stall, which opens daily at 4PM, has become a hotspot for seafood lovers. Some customers even travel from different districts and states just to try the viral king crab, which is trending on TikTok under their account abang_kingcrab.

Ikhmal admitted that supply remains a challenge. “We can’t sell too many in a day because we want to ensure freshness. The size and cost of the crabs also depend on suppliers, so it’s not always easy,” he said.

Sauces That Keep Customers Coming Back

Nurul added that part of their popularity comes from how the crabs are served: freshly cooked and paired with their homemade chili and buttermilk sauces.

“People prefer food that’s ready to eat, and our sauces really enhance the flavor. That’s why they keep coming back,” she said.

Customers Travel Far for a Taste

One customer, Azlina Alawi, 42, even drove back to Kelantan from her home in Ipoh, Perak, after seeing their viral video.

“I wanted my family in Pengkalan Kubor, especially my parents, to taste it too. I came yesterday but it sold out, so I came back today. The price is so much cheaper compared to what I usually pay elsewhere. It’s great that more people can now enjoy king crab,” she said.
