Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced additional Electric Train Service (ETS) trips between KL Sentral and Padang Besar in conjunction with Deepavali.
According to an announcement by the train services operator, there will be one extra trip per direction starting from 17 to 22 October 2025 to meet the surge in travel demand during the festive season and help ease road congestion for those heading back to their hometowns.
For the northbound journey (KL Sentral – Padang Besar), trains will depart KL Sentral at 5pm and arrive in Padang Besar at 10.20pm.
The return service (Padang Besar – KL Sentral) will depart Padang Besar at 11.05am and reach KL Sentral at 4.30pm.

Each additional trip will provide 630 seats daily, bringing the total to 3,780 seats – including business class – over the six-day period.
KTMB advises to purchase tickets in advance and arrive early
Tickets are available starting 10am on 7 October 2025 via the KTM Mobile App (KITS) or the KTMB website, offering a fast and cashless booking experience. It would be good to note that as of 1 January 2025, KTMB has shifted to a fully-cashless ticketing system, so it is highly advised to book in advance.
KTMB advises passengers to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to ensure smooth boarding during the busy festive period. Kindly note that boarding gates will close 5 minutes before departure time.
