Malaysia’s iconic Merdeka 118 is preparing to launch one of its most daring attractions yet, the Spire Climb, set to officially open to the public in Q3 2026 as part of “The View at 118” experience.
KL’s newest sky-high attraction

Standing at a staggering 678.9 metres tall, Merdeka 118 is currently the second-tallest building in the world, and visitors will soon get the chance to experience Kuala Lumpur from heights never seen before.
The View at 118 observation deck is expected to offer a panoramic 360° views of Kuala Lumpur, alongside adrenaline-filled attractions like the Edge Walk and the highly anticipated Spire Climb.
The Spire Climb, set to open in Q3 2026 (between July and September) will allow participants to scale the tower’s massive spire section, which alone measures around 160 metres.

Highest observation deck in Southeast Asia
The announcement comes after Malaysian world champion tower runner Soh Wai Ching led a special climb up the Merdeka 118 spire in conjunction with National Take the Stairs Day.
According to PNB Merdeka Ventures CEO Dato’ Ir. Ts. Izwan Ibrahim, The View at 118 is expected to become the highest observation deck in Southeast Asia, positioning Malaysia as an exciting global tourism destination.
