7eleven staff RM1 transaction to find wallet owner

What started as a missing wallet quickly turned into an unexpected feel-good story — all thanks to two puzzling RM1 transactions.

Threads user @johan.thehutt first assumed he had misplaced his wallet somewhere at home. Days passed, then nearly two weeks, but he didn’t think much of it.

It was only when he began seriously searching that the worry set in. The wallet was nowhere to be found.

Then, his phone buzzed.

Two notifications showing two RM1 transactions made at a 7-Eleven in Seri Kembangan.

The thing is, Johan was nowhere near the outlet.

At first, alarm bells rang. Had his card been stolen? But the charges didn’t add up. If someone was committing fraud, why spend just RM1 — and do it twice?

That’s when a different thought crossed his mind. What if someone was trying to send him a message?

Johan immediately made his way to 7Eleven

Curious, Johan headed to the 7-Eleven to investigate. What he discovered there caught him completely off guard.

The store staff had found his wallet and quietly kept it safe for more than two weeks. With no phone number, no ID contact details, and no way to reach him, they came up with a creative solution — running a tiny debit transaction to trigger a banking alert and guide him back to the store.

It worked perfectly.

“These lads have been holding onto my wallet for over two weeks,” Johan shared. “Shoutout to these lads for their honesty and integrity!”
