Accidents don’t just happen at work, they can happen anytime, anywhere. However, for years, Malaysian employees were not covered outside of their working hours. Now, SOCSO’s new Lindung 24 Jam scheme is changing the game by offering round-the-clock coverage, giving workers a safety net even beyond office hours.
What is Lindung 24/7?

In short, Lindung 24/7 is a new SOCSO scheme that will be enforced starting June 2026 which provides:
- 24-hour protection for workers
- Coverage for accidents outside working hours
- Protection even when the incident is not work-related
- Cost of medical treatment financed by SOCSO
Broader protection beyond working hours
Under Lindung 24/7, employees who qualify would be covered by social insurance irrespective of the time at which the accident occurred.
The benefits offered under the scheme include:

- Disability benefit
- Dependents’ benefit
- Constant attendance benefit
- Funeral benefit
- Rehabilitation services
- Educational benefits.
