“I leave this stall to you for you to continue the business. Never raise the prices. Don’t burden others. There are so many out there struggling,” Mak Jah’s late mother requested of her 10 days before her passing.

Her late mother entrusted her with more than just a stall. She left behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and unconditional compassion – a reminder that even in business, humanity must come first.

Continuing this RM3 mixed rice is Mak Jah’s way of remembering and honouring her late mother and thanking the customers who never stopped supporting their business.

Beyond RM3 meals, Mak Jah also hands free food to students as charity

Mak Jah’s kindness does not end at the affordable RM3 meals. Every Tuesday, she also hands out free food as a form of charity to students.

“Berbagi, berjual, sambil bersedekah.”
“To give, to trade, while also giving charity.”

Mak Jah’s motto. She doesn’t chase profit. Her RM3 meals barely cover her costs. Yet she continues, unwavering, because she believes her business is with God – not in numbers, but in intentions.

Customers raved about her food and commended that it is not only tasty but also extremely affordable. They have always asked Mak Jah how does she make a profit when she sells at this price, to which she replied she does business with God in her heart. She does it all to honour her mother’s dying wishes.

Customers often ask her how she survives. How she keeps going. Her reply is always gentle, always the same:

“It is not about profit or loss. It’s about fulfilling my mother’s final wish. This RM3 meal is done just for her.”

Her stall, humble yet full of soul, has become a place where the struggling find not just food, but comfort. The aroma of home-cooked meals fills the air, but even more powerful is the warmth with which each plate is served. It’s so much more than a food stall. It’s a story of love, loss, and the kind of giving that asks for nothing in return.
