Malaysian motorists will soon have the final chance to enjoy discounts of up to 50% to 70% on their outstanding JPJ and PDRM summons from 1 November 2025 to 30 December 2025, before a new summon payment system officially takes effect in 2026.

The Transport Ministry, Anthony Loke stated that this two month transition period aims to help the public clear their existing summons at reduced rates before the introduction of new stricter structure starting 1 January 2026.

Final chances with higher summon discounts

During the transition period, the Malaysians are encouraged to settle their outstanding traffic summons to take advantage of the special discount offers. Authorities noted that once the new system starts, such campaign will be discontinued to ensure a more transparent and consistent enforcement process.

Preparing a fairer system

The ministry released an announcement about the upcoming system, known as “The Less You Delay, The Less You Pay,” which is developed to encourage timely payments and reduce dependance on large-scale discount campaigns.

Under the new structure, the amount payable will depend on how soon the summons is settled:

  • Within 15 days: 50% discount
  • Between 16 and 30 days: 33% discount
  • Between 31 to 60 days: No discount
  • After 60 days: No discount, and may face court action or blacklisting

Officials said that the system as fairer to all road users rewarding those who pay promptly instead of waiting for occasional discount offers.

No more special discounts in 2026

Once the new system takes effect in 2026, special discount programmes for summons will no longer be held. This change marks a shift towards a more consistent and disciplined enforcement approach.

The government also clarified that the rule will not apply to serious offences, such as driving without an insurance or using fake license documents.

Motorists can continue to check their summons via MySikap, MyJPJ, MyBayar PDRM, or at any JPJ/PDRM counters or kiosks nationwide.

“The public are also urged to take the advantage of the upcoming discount period and settle all overdue summons before December 30 as the new system aims to build a more responsible and safety-conscious driving culture in Malaysia,” the ministry said.
