Kuala Lumpur is getting two new malls this August, giving shoppers even more places to eat, shop and explore.

Ombak KLCC is expected to open on Aug 28, while 118 Mall, located at the foot of the Merdeka 118 tower, is set to open in Aug 31.

Ombak KLCC

Located in the KLCC area, Ombak KLCC will combine shopping, dining, entertainment, art and culture, with several big names already confirmed.

Some of the confirmed tenants and attractions include:

  • Galeri Petronas: Offering a preview experience, with the full permanent gallery planned for 2027.
  • Nintendo Pop-Up Store: First-ever Malaysia POP-UP STORE, featuring exclusive merchandise and games.
  • Pokémon Center Pop-Up Store: A highly anticipated promotional store bringing limited edition Pokémon plushies and gear.
  • Seibu Department Store: A key premium retail partner.
  • Village Grocer: Slated to serve as the mall’s primary upscale grocery anchor.
  • Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC): Set to provide the main entertainment and cinema halls for the complex.

The Nintendo and Pokémon pop-up stores are expected to open from Sept 12, so fans will have another reason to visit Ombak KLCC after its opening.

118 Mall

Over at Merdeka 118, 118 Mall will feature more than 300 retail outlets, with shopping, dining and Malaysian culture among its main highlights.

Some of the confirmed tenants include:

  • SOGO118: A major department store offering fashion, beauty, homeware and lifestyle products.
  • Coach: Luxury fashion brand known for handbags, leather goods, accessories and ready-to-wear.
  • Decathlon: Sporting goods retailer offering equipment, clothing and accessories for a wide range of sports.
  • ZUS Coffee: Malaysian coffee chain serving coffee, tea and other drinks, alongside light food options.
  • Dolly Dim Sum: Casual Chinese restaurant specialising in dim sum and other Cantonese-inspired dishes.
  • Makanizm Food Hall: A large food hall showcasing a variety of Malaysian and regional food and dining options.

With both malls opening around the same time, KL shoppers will soon have two new spots to add to their weekend plans.
