
One person was killed and nine others were injured following an explosion at the cafeteria of HELP University in Bukit Damansara earlier today.
According to Malay Mail, Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Fadil Marsus said the victim, a 24-year-old contractor, succumbed to his injuries at Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The incident occurred at approximately 11.45am.
Among those injured were four students, a technician, and two canteen workers, while two other contractors suffered serious injuries.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been confirmed, although authorities believe liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) may have been involved.
Earlier, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the explosion and said fire and rescue personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene to carry out response and safety operations.
