Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that all Malaysians aged 18 and above will receive a one-off RM100 Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) credit beginning Feb 9. He made this announcement in his New Year address setting out the country’s direction for 2026.

Speaking on Jan 5, PM Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the finance minister, said the initiative follows last year’s scheme, with the SARA credit once again aimed at helping Malaysians purchase essential goods.

The additional assistance is expected to benefit about 22 million people and help ease household expenses ahead of Ramadan and Chinese New Year.

The credit will be loaded directly onto recipients’ MyKad and can be used as a cashless payment method for basic necessities.

Kindly note that OTP for the MyKasih app will be sent via email starting Jan 2026.
