When people hunt for a place to rent, the usual checklist is pretty simple. Comfortable space, strategic location, decent amenities and, most importantly, a price that doesn’t hurt the wallet.

Recently, however, one rental listing in the heart of Kuala Lumpur caught the attention of netizens for all the wrong reasons, thanks to its rather ‘creative’ furniture layout.

A bedroom, wardrobe & sink all in one space

The listing, which appeared on mudah.my two days ago, included several photos of the unit’s interior and quickly left viewers scratching their heads.

From the images, the single room features a bed tucked into one corner, with a large cupboard placed right next to it. Just a short distance away, a sink is installed directly against the wall, accompanied by a small open shelf sitting on the floor beside it. Yes, the sink is inside the bedroom.

According to the description, the unit measures about 200 square feet and is located in Bukit Bintang. It is also said to be just a five-minute walk from both the Maluri MRT and LRT stations, making it fairly convenient in terms of location.

As for the price, the room is listed at RM450 per month, with a deposit starting from as low as RM100 for those interested in moving in.

Looks like an ordinary room to begin with, but there’s a twist to it.

Despite the unusual setup, the listing also claims that tenants will have access to shared facilities such as a swimming pool, sauna, playground and even a barbeque area.

Safe to say, the listing has sparked plenty of discussion online as it makes its way to social media, with many netizens torn between being impressed by the affordability and puzzled by the sink’s placement.

Here’s what some of them said:

Kitchen converted to room eh.

I thought converting a store room to a rental room was mind blowing. This is way more advanced.
