A 10-year-old girl, Aesha Khadeeja and her 8-year-old younger brother, Uwais Al Qorni surprised the Prime Minister by offering him RM7 “Duit Raya” when they happened to see his convoy at Sultan Mahmud Airport in Terengganu.

According to reports, the siblings were travelling with their mother when they noticed a convoy believed to be carrying Anwar Ibrahim on the way to Sultan Mahmud Airport.

Hoping for a chance encounter, their mother decided to head to the airport, where they waited for nearly an hour before finally meeting the Prime Minister as he was preparing to board his official aircraft.

Without hesitation, the children used their allowance from school, put it into an envelope, and gave it to Anwar Ibrahim for Hari Raya.

The girl contributed RM5, while her younger brother gave RM2. This little gesture reflected innocence, excitement, and genuine festive spirit rather than monetary value.

Their mother later shared that the children simply wanted to share “Duit Raya” with the country’s leader after seeing him in person.

The Prime Minister was reportedly deeply touched by the unexpected act. In a social media post, he described the moment as a reminder of the sincerity and warmth that still exists among Malaysians, especially the younger generation.

In return for their thoughtful gesture, the Prime Minister arranged for his team to deliver Duit Raya, iPads, school supplies, and a copy of the Quran to the family.

The gifts were delivered through official representatives during the follow-up visit, turning what began as RM7 in kindness into a memorable life experience for the family.
