A ten-year-old male student was found unconscious at 1p.m. in the toilet of a primary school in Seremban on Oct 1 (Monday) and was later confirmed dead at a nearby hospital.
According to Negeri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, the authorities received a report at approximately 1.19p.m., while the boy was still undergoing medical treatment.
Initial investigations revealed that the student had left his classroom at about 12.10p.m. before being found unconscious in the school toilet. He was rushed to the medical centre by the discipline teacher but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Datuk Alzafny stated that the case is currently being investigated under Section 507C of the Penal Code, which concerns threats to personal safety. A post-mortem is scheduled to be conducted today at Hospital Rembau to determine the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said that the Ministry of Education is fully cooperating with the police to ensure the transparency of investigation. Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, she urged the public to respect the family’s emotions and refrain from spreading any unverified information.
“This is a deeply distressing matter. We ask everyone to give the family the space that they need and to avoid any speculation” she said.
Fadhlina also noted that the Ministry is providing psychosocial and emotional support to the family.
“Beginning today, school counsellors will carry out the integrated intervention efforts to offer psychosocial assistance to both students and teachers at the school,” she added.
The Ministry of Education is also working closely with the Ministry of Health (MOH) to strengthen the mental health support and implement preventive mental wellness programmes. In a separate statement, she assured parents that there is no need to be alarmed by the incident, encouraging them to continue sending their children to school as usual.
As of now, this is the second student death reported in a Seremban school within a short span of time. Prior to this, on September 27, a nine-year-old student died after falling into a 1.8-metre-deep sewage drain in the school of Lenggeng, Negeri Sembilan.
