Over 60 dogs were recently discovered confined within small, unhygienic cages, living in silence and neglect. These animals, once symbols of companionship, were instead reduced to breeding machines, deprived of affection and freedom, highlighting the grim truth behind many backyard breeders who operate solely for profit rather than animal welfare.

According to rescuers, the dogs comprising breeds such as Poodle, Pomeranians, Beagles, Jack Russells, and Shih Tzus, were kept in appalling conditions. Many were malnourished, sick, and even surgically debarked to prevent barking.

Their lives are limited due to producing litter after litter, their sufferings hidden from public view while their puppies were sold to meet the growing demand for “branded” dogs.

A call for compassion and responsibility

The rescue team is now working tirelessly to save and rehabilitate these dogs. They estimate that around RM100,000 is needed for medical care, neutering, vaccination, and safe sheltering. Each dog requires attention, treatment, and a chance at recovery. Public support through donations, fostering, or sharing awareness is crucial to ending this cycle of cruelty.

“Please help us to set them free. We need funds to board them somewhere safe,” the rescue team said.

Give a home through adoption

This rescue mission serves as a powerful reminder to adopt rather than buy. Every purchase from an unethical breeder sustains a system of suffering. Adoption offers these traumatized dogs a second chance at life, a chance to finally experience kindness beyond the confines of a cage.

Spreading awareness through engagement such as sharing, liking, and commenting also plays a role in supporting these dogs and giving them a chance for a better life.
