The woman, Mirza, shared on Threads that she woke up on Sunday with severe chilis, dizziness, and weakness that made it difficult for her to walk. With nearby clinics still closed and only RM30 left, she worried she would not be able to afford the medical treatment.

When the e-hailing driver arrived, he noticed her unstable condition and comforted her. She asked whether the clinic listed in her app would be too expensive, fearing her RM30 would not be enough.

Provide calm guidance amid panic

Seeing her condition, the driver gently said, “It’s okay sis, don’t worry about the money, let’s uncle help find another place.”

During the ride, Mirza repeatedly thought of her parents far away, and the driver’s kindness filled the emotional void she felt at that moment.

“At that time I cried even worse because from the beginning I was sick until the end, I always remembered my mum and dad. My mouth keeps calling, but Umiayah’s figure is far away. Allah replace him with this uncle, he’s been helping me all along,” she said.

Concerned about the cost of a private hospital, she was initially hesitant, but the driver decided to send her to the government hospital despite worries about long waits, believing it was the safest option. Fortunately, the emergency department’s process moved quickly, allowing her to receive prompt treatment.

Support continued even after medical treatment

“Actually from the beginning, I was worried that the clinic I first found on Grab would close and I’d have to book another Grab, since I didn’t have enough money,” she stated.

However, the driver did not leave after dropping her off. He brought her to the emergency ward, bought breakfast, gave additional pocket money, and later contacted her to check on her recovery. He also offered to deliver essentials to the ward if she ended up being admitted.

Mirza described him as a “guardian-like uncle” who appeared when she needed support the most, urging others to give him a five-star rating and a tip if they ever meet him on the road.

Online praise and further clarification

The driver later shared with her that he had an unusually smooth workday, earning more than RM300 by late afternoon. The story drew widespread attention online, with many users praising him a shining example of quiet kindness.

“This Grab uncle is truly a legend!”

“He knows he’s struggling himself, but he still took the risk to help others. MasyaAllah, uncle, may you live a long life and always be blessed with sustenance. So what happened next? Did the uncle come to check on you again?”

“I once rode with this uncle on Grab in Seremban — he drove a red Saga, right? May Allah SWT reward him and ease your affairs. This reminds us to always be kind, as goodness is always repaid in its own way. Alhamdulillah, and thank you for this post.”
