Two siblings from Klang Utama are facing immense challenges as they prepare for major national examinations this year, following their father’s recent stroke.
Father requires constant care while mother is working minimum wage
According to the social media post by VK Education Foundation founder Viknesvary Picchaiayya, the father is currently unwell and requires round-the-clock care, leaving the children unable to attend school regularly like their peers. With their mother working on a minimum wage as the family’s sole breadwinner, the siblings take turns caring for their father while she is at work.
Siblings are sitting for SPM and STPM this year
The situation has placed significant emotional and financial strain on the family, making it increasingly difficult for the children to focus on their studies—particularly as they prepare for crucial examinations that could shape their future.
After learning about their circumstances through community activist Uncle Kentang, VK Education Foundation stepped forward to provide assistance by arranging online classes and covering monthly educational expenses. However, they stressed that sustained support from the wider community is needed to ensure the children can continue their education.
Contact and donation information
The family is currently seeking assistance in the form of:
- second-hand laptop for the students
- monthly sponsorship to help cover ongoing educational costs (WiFi / internet connection so they can attend online classes smoothly, as well as contributions for school needs and groceries). VK Education Foundation will provide the family’s personal account details privately to genuine donors.
Those who wish to contribute are encouraged to come forward to support the siblings during this critical period in their lives.
