Those heading into Kuala Lumpur this Sunday (1 February) should be prepared for traffic disruptions, as several key roads in the city centre will be closed or diverted in stages for the Visit Malaysia 2026 run.
Road closures due to Visit Malaysia 2026 run
The event, which is part of the Federal Territory Day celebrations, will take place across two time slots throughout the day. The KL10 Run will kick off early, running from 4am to 10am, while the VM2026 Run, covering a distance of five kilometres, is scheduled from 3pm until 11.59pm.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the phased road closures are aimed at ensuring the safety of runners, minimising congestion, and keeping the overall programme running smoothly.
Roads affected include:
- Jalan P. Ramlee
- Jalan Ampang
- Jalan Pinang
- Jalan Kia Peng
- Jalan Stonor
- Jalan Conlay
- Jalan Raja Chulan
- Jalan Bukit Bintang
- Jalan Sultan Ismail
- Jalan Dang Wangi
- Jalan Munshi Abdullah
- Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman
- Jalan Persiaran Maybank
With that said, road users are advised to plan their journeys early and use alternative routes where possible. Road users are also reminded to follow instructions from police officers and traffic personnel on duty.
Authorities and organisers have asked for the public’s cooperation and understanding for any inconvenience caused during the road closures.
