One of Klang Valley’s most famous nasi lemak spots is making headlines for a very different reason, the shoplot housing Village Park Restaurant in Damansara Uptown has reportedly been put up for bank auction.
The three-and-a-half-storey freehold shoplot at No. 5, Jalan SS 21/37, Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, is listed with a reserve price of RM5.3 million, with the auction scheduled for October 1, 2026.
The property measures approximately 22ft by 75ft, with a land area of about 1,650 sq ft. Property listings describe it as a commercial shop office in the busy Damansara Uptown area.
The shoplot behind the famous nasi lemak
For many Malaysians, the address is instantly recognisable as the home of Village Park Restaurant, best known for its popular nasi lemak and fried chicken.
The restaurant has long been a major food destination in Damansara Utama, attracting huge crowds of locals and visitors.
Online property listings specifically identify the auction property as the shoplot occupied by a popular restaurant known for its nasi lemak and fried chicken.
The auction listing also states that the property is being sold on an “as is where is” basis, with potential bidders advised to review the Proclamation of Sale, title conditions and auction terms before bidding.
RM5.3 million reserve price
With a reserve price of RM5.3 million, the upcoming auction has naturally caught attention because of the property’s well-known tenant and its location in one of Petaling Jaya’s established commercial areas.
However, there is currently no verified information confirming that the auction is linked to inheritance issues, title transfer problems or the restaurant’s financial position, so these claims should not be presented as fact without further confirmation.
