He said he believed the state and district education departments, together with the school, would take appropriate action based on the existing regulations.

Mother went to school to seek answers

The boy reportedly told his 42-year-old mother that the teacher had hit him on the head with a walking stick while he was at school. The mother then informed the school, prompting the principal to arrange a meeting between her and the teacher at the school office.

However, during the meeting, the teacher allegedly shouted at the woman before hitting her on the right thigh with the walking stick. The principal was reportedly present and witnessed the incident.

The woman, who was frightened by what happened, immediately left the school and lodged a police report at around 11.43am.

Teacher remanded for three days

Police subsequently arrested the teacher and obtained a three-day remand order to assist with investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for allegedly causing injury using a weapon or dangerous means.
