Good news for Malaysian drivers, under the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) subsidy programme, every Malaysian is eligible for up to 300 litres of RON95 per month at the subsidised price, as long as you have a valid drivers license.

How it works
The subsidy is open to all Malaysians, with e-hailing drivers exempted from the 300-litre monthly ceiling but able to apply for extra allocations to protect their livelihoods. The limit was set based on statistics showing that over 99% of private vehicle drivers in Malaysia do not exceed this amount. No prior registration is needed, the only extra step is verifying your MyKad when filling up at the subsidised price.
Rollout schedule
- Sept 27: 300,000 police and military personnel
- Sept 28: B40 recipients of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR)
- Sept 30: Open to 16 million Malaysians aged 16+ with a valid MyKad and driving licence
The government also reminded Malaysians to ensure their MyKad chip is working and that their driving licence is valid before the rollout. There’s no need to rush renewing your MyKad if you’re still able to claim benefits under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid, which shows your MyKad chip is functional.
