Road users heading up to Genting Highlands during the upcoming long weekend will have to pay a new toll charge starting May 28. The fee will apply to private vehicles entering Jalan Genting Highlands through Genting Sempah and Gohtong Jaya. 

RM5 per entry for cars and vans

Under the new fee structure introduced by Lingkaran Cekap Sdn Bhd, Class 1 vehicles including cars and vans will be charged RM5 per entry both for Genting Highlands entry and Gohtong Jaya entry.

Other vehicle charges include:

  • Taxis: RM3.30
  • Buses: RM5
  • Medium lorries: RM15
  • Heavy lorries: RM25

For vehicles under Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 are required to enter via the “Lorong Khas” lanes or Licence Plate Recognition (LPR). 

Motorcycles and emergency vehicles exempted

Motorcycles and emergency vehicles will not need to pay the road charge and do not require registration for exemption.

Meanwhile, public servants working in government institutions around Genting Highlands including schools, police stations, clinics, district offices, and fire stations may also qualify for exemptions after registering their vehicles.

This includes:

  • SK and SMK Sri Layang
  • Institut Aminuddin Baki 
  • Genting Highlands and Gohtong Jaya police stations 
  • fire station 
  • Klinik Desa Sri Layang 
  • several district and state government offices 

Genting residents to get special rates

Permanent residents in Genting Highlands can register up to two Class 1 vehicles for discounted rates.

Eligible residents can choose:

  • A 10% discounted entry fee, or
  • A six-month unlimited-entry season pass

Registered vehicles under the resident scheme will not be charged before June 28.
