A tense rescue operation unfolded at an apartment in Kuala Lumpur after a man was seen standing on an exterior platform several storeys above the ground, reportedly threatening to jump.
The incident is believed to have happened on September 21 at an apartment along Jalan Ampang Hilir.
A video circulating online shows the masked man, dressed in black and wearing a cap, standing on the edge of an exterior platform while several firefighters tried to approach him.
The man could be seen waving his hands and gesturing for the firefighters to stay away as he moved around the platform.
Firefighter tackles man just in time
As the man moved closer to the firefighters, one of them suddenly rushed forward and tackled him to the ground, preventing him from jumping.
Several other firefighters immediately moved in to help restrain him and bring him to safety. Meanwhile, police officers and firefighters could be seen gathering on the ground floor, with a safety net set up below as a precaution in case the man fell.
The incident attracted the attention of people nearby, who gathered to watch as emergency responders worked to prevent a potential tragedy.
