An unsettling incident occurred at Golden Triangle2, Bayan Lepas when a man wearing a helmet entered a business premises where several women were on duty. According to accounts, the man closed the roller shutter from inside, creating a tense atmosphere, before making inappropriate and sexually suggestive remarks toward the workers.

“I just want to have sex”

In the CCTV footage uploaded to r/pulaupinang on Reddit, the suspect could be heard saying that he meant no danger or harm, but he just needed five minutes to relieve himself sexually and demanded one woman to go to one area in the store.

The women, caught off guard by the sudden intrusion, were left shocked and unsettled. The man tried to touch one of the women but was pushed away. Fortunately, the situation did not escalate further, as the man eventually left the premises without physical confrontation.

While no injuries were reported, the behaviour has been described by netizens as alarming and unacceptable as incidents of this nature not only cause distress but also raise concerns over workplace safety and security.

Netizens have expressed hope that the women are safe and that the matter has been reported to the authorities for prompt investigation.

Police have arrested the suspect

According to a report by Bernama, Barat Daya police chief Asst Comm Sazalee Adam confirmed that a 32-year-old man was arrested at 5.58pm on 12 September at a restaurant in Bayan Lepas, following a police report lodged by the victim’s employer.

“Investigations revealed that the suspect had entered a business premises, which also functions as a storeroom for an online children’s toy business, and attempted to pressure the victim into engaging in sexual activity,” he said in a statement on Monday (Sept 22).

The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955.
