What started as a simple banking app is now turning into something much bigger. Users of Maybank MAE were recently shocked to discover that they could actually purchase fresh mangoes directly through the app.
From money transfers to mango orders
Most people initially opened the MAE app just to transfer money or check their balance.
However, to their surprise, an added function in the app enabled them to go ahead and purchase the very delicious and popular Harumanis mangoes from Perlis, Malaysia.
Supporting local farmers through “Sama-Sama Lokal”
This is not something that came out randomly but is part of the Maybank Sama-Sama Lokal campaign aimed at supporting local businesses and farmers who can get directly connected to consumers.
Through this initiative, users can:
- Buy fresh produce directly from local sources
- Support Malaysian farmers
- Enjoy seasonal fruits like Harumanis mangoes without middlemen
What makes it even more attractive is that some promotions have included free delivery and discounts, making it easier and cheaper for users to get their hands on the “King of Mangoes.”
Limited time deal
Through the app, users can get a 3kg box of premium Harumanis mangoes for just RM120 and is only available for a limited time, from 16 March to 15 May 2026.
Buyers get to choose between two varieties:
- Harumanis Perlis
- Harumanis D’Aman
