A disturbing incident involving several male students was reported after a man, allegedly a religious school teacher, was accused of using violence against them at a commercial premise. The man was reported to have allegedly struck the students with a helmet and continued to assault them with punches and kicks.

Footage of the incident, which later spread across social media, shows at least 10 teenage boys gathered along a corridor on the second floor of a building in Kota Kinabalu.
The students appeared frightened and were seen crouching and and covering their heads while the man allegedly continued the physical assault. The incident is occurred at approximately 11.55pm.

Investigation ongoing
Following the circulation of the video, a police report was lodged.
“The preliminary investigations indicate that the victims are students from a nearby religious school,” Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Kasim Muda said.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon and Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 for child abuse, and the suspect has been arrested to assist with further investigations.
