Nearly a year after losing their 17-year-old son in a fatal bus accident, Lee Chin Hooi and Lau Cheng Li are still struggling to come to terms with the tragedy, while waiting for answers about what happened.

Their son, Jason Lee, was an SPM candidate when his life was cut short in the accident. Despite the time that has passed, the couple say they have yet to receive any updates on prosecution progress, leaving them uncertain about whether justice will be served.
His room remains untouched
At home, the family has kept Jason’s bedroom much as he left it. His belongings, phone and gaming accounts remain, while his mother continues to clean the room despite finding it difficult to spend too much time there because of the memories.
The road where the accident happened is also a painful reminder. The family still has to travel along it for their daily commute, as there is no alternative route, but they try to avoid the middle lane where Jason’s body was found.
Even their family dog misses him

The family’s dog, Latte, was adopted from a pet shop where Jason’s aunt worked, more than a year before the accident. The dog was very attached to him. After Jason passed away, Latte initially waited by the front door as though expecting him to return. These days, she often lies beneath his computer desk.
For Lee Chin Hooi and Lau Cheng Li, the loss remains deeply painful. More than anything, they hope to finally learn the truth about their son’s death and see justice served.
