Speaking during the National Consumers’ Day event at a shopping mall, he said the additional holiday will depend on the date Hari Raya falls.

The extra public holiday will be given as follows:

  • If Hari Raya falls on Friday (March 20) – the additional holiday will be on Monday (March 23).
  • If Hari Raya falls on Saturday (March 21) – the additional holiday will be on Friday.

According to NST, Anwar reassured the public that there is no need to worry, as an extra holiday will be provided regardless of whether Hari Raya is celebrated on Friday or Saturday.

He added that the early announcement was made to give people enough time to plan their Hari Raya celebrations and travel arrangements.
