This Labour Day, Oriental Kopi is aiming for a Guinness World Record by serving 10,000 nasi lemak in just 8 hours, turning a beloved Malaysian dish into a high-speed food challenge.
To attempt a Guinness World Records title

Homegrown kopitiam giant Oriental Kopi is making headlines with an ambitious plan — to attempt a Guinness World Records title for the “Most Servings of Nasi Lemak Sold in 8 Hours”, aiming for a jaw-dropping 10,000 plates in a single day.
The record attempt will take place at IOI City Mall (West Court), Putrajaya, this Labour Day, where Oriental Kopi aims to sell 10,000 nasi lemak in just 8 hours, with the entire challenge officially monitored by Guinness World Records adjudicators on-site.
RM9.90 nasi lemak deal to get everyone involved

To hit their target, Oriental Kopi will need to operate at an extreme pace, roughly one serving every two seconds for eight straight hours.
It’s not just a food event, it’s a full-scale operational challenge.
In order to promote mass participation, Oriental Kopi is launching its nasi lemak promotion with an affordable price of RM9.90 per dish.
This move allows the public to directly contribute to the record attempt simply by enjoying a meal.
Exclusive rewards await
It’s not just about eating, customers will also receive exclusive perks, including:
- Limited edition World Records gold coin (while stocks last)
- Exclusive glass cup for customers who buy 5 nasi lemak in a single transaction (while stocks last)
- RM2 Oriental Kopi voucher with purchase of 1 nasi lemak and above
- Lucky draw chance to win an iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 16E or Huawei Mate 50 Pro (purchases of 5 boxes nasi lemak or spend RM60 & above on merchandise to receive 1 entry)

Beyond the numbers, the campaign carries a deeper meaning.
Nasi lemak, widely regarded as the national food of Malaysia, will be prominently featured to represent unity and cultural pride.
It is a moment for all Malaysians, a chance to show the world who we are, and what we can achieve together.
Netizens have shown strong support for the initiative, with many expressing excitement, pride, and encouragement for the record-breaking attempt.
